OUR

OUR

BELIEFS

We seek to be Word-driven and Christ-centered.

The Word of God governs our life, and we believe the Bible points to Jesus Christ. The Bible is God’s written Word—His communication to us of who He is, what He does, and what He expects of us. The Bible alone holds the authoritative answers to the questions of life and eternity. The written Word is a reflection of the Living Word, Jesus Christ. It is our reliable, sufficient rule for faith and practice.

We seek to be timeless in our message.

Because we believe the gospel is central and that our church life should be governed by the Word of God, we practice expository, Christ-centered preaching. We strive to make our message accessible to everyone, while still preaching the full counsel of God. Our message is Jesus Christ and Him crucified. We seek to share this message compassionately with the hurting to make a difference in our community, while also engaging in committed missions efforts throughout the world.

We seek to be relevant in our vision.

We believe that the Bible is relevant and contains everything we need to face the problems of life today. We are ordinary people who submit to the work of God in our hearts to change us to become more like His Son, Jesus. We desire to change, not because we thereby gain favor with God, but because we desire to grow in our love for Him.

We seek to reach, equip, and send.

Our strategy to reach, equip, and send people out in this community and beyond is built on 4G’s:

  • Gather – We believe that God calls his people to make worship a priority. “God is Spirit and true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth.” John 4:23 ESV Your public time of worship is impacted by your personal time of worship.
  • Grow – We believe that spiritual growth should be the natural outcome of an authentic relationship with Jesus.  We provide several pathways on Sundays, Wednesdays, and other times for all ages.  Spiritually healthy believers are growing believers.
  • Give – We believe that everything that we have been given, we are to be wise stewards of. Our time, talents, and treasures are the Lord’s.  We want to help people to develop in these areas and we will walk with you to help you develop with the goal of equipping you to develop this in others.
  • Go – We believe that the Great Commission is still the compelling charge to the church.  We want to be a church that engages and is concerned about both our neighbors and the nations.

We believe that when believers gather for worship, grow spiritually, and develop a life of giving themselves away, then going to reach our families, community, and other nations is a natural outcome.

Membership

Joining the church is an important spiritual marker in a believer’s life.  We believe that only followers of Christ who have been baptized by immersion can be members. We also believe that members need to be involved in our 4G strategy.
